This document explains about the Page Peel ads which open automatically on page load behind the page content and close after [X] seconds.

Ad Behaviour
The Page Peel ad opens automatically on page load and closes after a few seconds. It starts where the page uncoils and reveals the advertiser’s message in a large format that is beneath the web page. Users can click on the ad to see more.

Specifications

File Type: Flash/ Image/ 3rd Party Tags (Only Iframe accepted)

Max File Size: 4 MB

Browser Compatibility: Page Peel is compatible with all browsers except IE 6

Behavior: The Page Peel opens automatically on page load and closes automatically after [X] seconds.

Steps to create page peel:

  • Go to the Create Adtab under the Campaign
  • Select the Advertiser for which you need to create the ad and also the campaign under which the ad is going to be live.
  • Under the Create Adtab click on the Rich Media Ads tab in the Ad Details section.
  • Select the Rich Media ad type as Custom Rich Media Ads.
  • Ad Dimension: Provide the ad dimension of your choice.
  • Ad Name: Provide the ad name of your choice.
  • IO Line Item # (reference): Add an IO number to keep track of multiple creative that belong to a single IO, or add another reference note. This field is available as a parameter in the Report Builder.
  • Ad Notes: We also have an option to add notes that you can remember for future use like the trafficker name, sales rep, etc.
  • Primary Ad:
    • In the primary ad section, you will find an option as Generate Custom ad, click on the Generate Custom ad button and a new page will be opened.
    • Select the appropriate Ad Format Template i.e. Page peel.
    • Under the Page Peel ad creation section, you will find an option to create an ad using one file or two files.
  • Base Unit:
    • Ad Dimension: In the Base unit section select the ad dimension of your choice e.g. 300×250.
    • Upload Creative: In the upload creative section you can upload:
    • Image: Here you can upload images for base unit page peel banners.
    • 3rd Party Tag: Here you can upload 3rd party code.
    • Below the upload creative section, you can find an option as upload image/URL.
    • Upload the image to be displayed on the page peel banner by clicking on Add File.
  • Properties:
    • After uploading the image for the banner you will find an option as peel effect which says:
    • Right to Left: This indicates that the peel for the banner will take place from Right to Left.
    • Left to Right: This indicates that the peel for the banner will take place from Left to Right.
  • Expand Unit:
    • Ad Dimension: In the expand unit section select the ad dimension for the expanded image.
    • Upload Creative: In the upload creative section you can upload:
    • Image: Here you can upload images for expand unit page peel banners.
  • Properties:
    • In the property section of the expand unit you can find an option as:
    • Auto expands on page load: This property will automatically expand the banner when the page loads.
    • Auto close in: It will close the banner in the mentioned time.
    • Peel color: You can select the peel color according to your preference.
  • Clickthrough URL: Insert the click-through URL which should open when the user clicks on the banner.
  • After inserting the click-through URL click on Create File & Upload button this will create a custom page peel ad for your reference.
  • Research Vendor Tag: In the research vendor tag you can select the vendor as :
    • Quantcast:
      • Account ID: Here, you need to provide the account id.
      • Tag type: Here you can select the tag types as HTML or Advertiser.
    • Other vendors:
      • URL: Here you can insert the tracking URL.
      • HTML code: Here you can insert the tracking code.
    • After uploading the file you have to select the targeting options i.e. GEO Targeting, Frequency Capping, Date/Time Targeting, Profile Targeting, etc.
    • Once you click on submit you will be redirected to a new page which will give you the confirmation that the ad was created.
