Note: If you are experiencing slowness, it is important that you contact ZEDO immediately. ZEDO load balances multiple CDN providers to find the fastest one with respect to the end user. Normal ad calls take between 300-600 milliseconds. Anything more warrants an investigation.

1. Packet Sniffer Output

The first thing we need to look at is the packet sniffer output (We recommend using Firebug.) This will give us the exact call flow of the ad and lets us see if the slowness is with ZEDO or with another party.

Note: packet sniffer output needs to come from the computer on which you’re experiencing slowness
  • Run a packet sniffer (Firebug)
  • Take a screenshot of the firebug output – the call flow has to clearly show where the slowness is
If call flow shows that the slowness is with a 3rd party, then contact that party

If it is ZEDO, we need to see the following additional information so we can determine exactly where the problem lies.

2. Ping and Trace Route

The ping command checks the destination IP address you want to reach and records the results. It also shows whether the destination responded and how long it took to respond.
  • Open a Command Prompt on your computer
    • Start >> Run >> cmd
  • Type the command ping **.zedo.com – our Support team will provide the exact command after they have seen the screenshot of your Firebug output.
  • If you know how to copy and paste the text from the result, you can do that. If not, you can take a screenshot.

Trace Route shows you the route over the network between two systems, listing all the intermediate routers a connection must pass through to get to its destination. It can help you determine why your connections to a given server might be poor, and can often help you figure out where exactly the problem is.

  • Open Command Prompt again
  • Type the command tracert **.zedo.com – our Support team will provide the exact command after they have seen the screenshot of your Firebug output.
  • If you know how to copy and paste the text from the result, you can do that. If not, you can take a screenshot.
Send these results to ZEDO Support.

3. Additional Information
Depending on which CDN the problem lies with, we will ask you to perform one more step, which varies between CDNs.
